Dalgain, located at 1233 Staunton Road in South Hills, was designed by architect H. Rus Warne and built in 1916 for Robert E. McCabe and Margaret Fleming Ward. Margaret was the daughter of Charles Ward, the founder of Ward Engineering Works. The house was a wedding gift from her parents, who also built their own home nearby. Dalgain is an American four-square style home with Italianate influences. Still owned by the McCabe family, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
