This house at 920 Newton Road was built about 1921 for Charleston businessman James R. Thomas, president of the Carbon Fuel Company. The English Tudor-style home, also called The Maples, was later owned by the McJunkin family and then the Love family. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
