Throughout the 20th century, women with formal educations were gradually able to find paying jobs, particularly in the teaching and nursing fields. However, they still faced many challenges. In some jobs, women were forced to resign if they got married, a rule that lasted for decades. Additionally, women faced discrimination when trying to enter higher-paying professions, such as law or medicine, where men had many more opportunities. Despite these obstacles, women continued to fight for their rights in the workplace.
