Industrial Jobs for Women

West Virginia's industrial growth often left women out of paid work, which limited their ability to be financially independent. Most women contributed through domestic labor at home and raising their families. Despite these important tasks, their work was often overlooked or undervalued compared to industrial jobs held by men.

As time went on, some women found jobs in factories, working in glass, pottery, cigar-making, textiles, and even aircraft plants.
